PEOPLE.COM: Days before she discussed how her ex-husband Ryan Adams allegedly held her music career hostage during their marriage, Mandy Moore enthusiastically spoke about returning to singing.

“I’ll be recording music during the [This Is Us] hiatus,” the actress told reporters at a set visit at Paramount Studios last week.

When asked by PEOPLE if her husband Taylor Goldsmith, who is the frontman for Dawes, will be creating new projects with her, Moore was giddy with excitement.

“Yes! With my husband! We have things written, ready to go,” she said. “Our hiatus starts soon, so I’m getting ready to go in the studio.”

This Is Us fans may already be familiar with Goldsmith’s work as he co-wrote an original song called “Invisible Ink” for a season 3 episode, which aired before the couple tied the knot in November. (Moore and Goldsmith got engaged in September 2017 after they’d been dating for two years.)

This Is Us executive producer Isaac Aptaker previously told Entertainment Weekly that the producers had Goldsmith in mind for quite a while. “We wanted to bring him in for something,” he said, adding that Moore “was so excited from the beginning. They collaborate on stuff outside the show, and he’s part of the This is Us extended family, so she was all in.”

Elizabeth Berger, another executive producer on the show, also spoke about Goldsmith and Moore’s chemistry, both on and off the screen. “They just absolutely love working together, and they find a lot of joy from it, so we were just looking for the perfect fit,” she told EW.

Moore revealed her plans for new music less than a week before the release a New York Times exposé, in which she claimed Adams took charge of her music career in 2010, three years after they first met when she was 23.

When Mandy Moore set out to explore her lineage on TLC’s long-running docuseries Who Do You Think You Are?, the This Is Us star thought she had a good idea of what she’d learn about her family tree.

“Mandy was expecting to find English roots for her English grandmother, who was very important to her growing up,” executive producer Lisa Kudrow says. Instead, Moore discovered that her great-great-great-grandparents were married Down Under. “That led to many questions,” Kudrow continues, “at the core of which was, why Australia in 1855?”

Josh Duhamel, Regina King and Matthew Morrison also trace their histories this season with the help of Ancestry.com. (Morrison found ties to the Revolutionary War, while King counts an Alabama civil-rights activist among her forebears.)

Each search begins with accessible documents like birth, death and marriage records. From there, experts keep digging, even using new developments in DNA testing.

In the eight years since the show’s U.S. premiere (the British original began in 2004), no one has walked away unaffected. Participants “can’t escape the impact of the events that influenced their ancestors’ lives,” Kudrow explains. “Change one of those circumstances, and they may not have been born.”

Who Do You Think You Are?, Season Premiere, Monday, December 3, 10/9c, TLC.

Mandy and Taylor tied the knot this past weekend. Congratulations to the happy couple!

EONLINE.COM: Mandy Moore is officially a bride!

E! News can confirm that the This Is Us star married Dawes musician Taylor Goldsmith in front of family and close friends Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.

A source told E! News that the ceremony was “an intimate backyard wedding at Mandy’s home that started just after sundown on Sunday evening.”

The private wedding ceremony comes after Mandy hinted to E! News that her ceremony wouldn’t be an over-the-top affair. It seemed like a very convivial gathering. The source added: “There was a small group of family and friends that looked to be about 50 people.”

According to the insider, the look of the wedding was “very boho,” which included “rugs on the floor surrounding the altar. The flower arrangements were beautiful with lots of large feathers.”

After the nuptials, guests then traveled to The Fig House, which is a private event space in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Some attendees include Minka Kelly, Wilmer Valderrama, Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz and Sterling K. Brown.

According to another insider, there was a plethora of culinary options at the reception. The source said there was no formal dinner, but there were a “number of food stations around the venue, including meat, chicken, vegetarian, raw food, flat bread, cheese and charcuterie and more.” The catering was all provided by Room Forty.

Like many weddings, guests could also enjoy lots of drinks provided by Pharmacy, which involved “a whiskey station and lots of wine.”

So what about the cake? Well, Mandy and Taylor went with something a bit more “non-traditional.” The insider said, “They’ll have 12 different kinds of cake for people to try.” Yum!

The groom himself also took a moment away from the dance floor to perform at the reception, along with Jackson Brown, Jonathan Rice, Blake Mills and Lenny Goldsmith.

The Tangled star has hinted that her wedding would be something very under-the-radar and low key. “It’s not going to be some lavish affair, its maybe something that isn’t going to require as much planning or at least that’s what I’m telling myself,” she previously told E! News. “I picked a funny profession for someone who doesn’t like all the attention focused on them so I’ve already done my girls weekend.”

Mandy continued: “It was sort of a birthday/bachelorette girls weekend all rolled into one and that was fabulous and fantastic so now I sort of feel like it could happen at a moment’s notice. Maybe I won’t even tell people and they’ll just show up at the house and it will just unfold.”

Back in September 2017, Taylor proposed to the This Is Us star after dating for more than two years. Since then, the actress has been able to celebrate with her close friends on multiple occasions including an unforgettable road trip.

Minka Kelly and This Is Us co-star Susan Kelechi Watson were just some of the ladies who traveled from Los Angeles to Ventana Big Sur.

“We lived our best lives and I’m left blown away by my friends and our good fortune to be able to share these moments together,” Mandy shared on Instagram.

As for any talks of expanding her family, let’s just say her experience of playing a mom on NBC’s hit show has certainly opened her eyes to more possibilities.

“The chapters have sort of lined up pretty perfectly,” she previously told reporters at a TCA panel. “It’s certainly good practice because I want to be a mom one day. Working with babies and kids and everything in between.”

For now, we’ll simply say congratulations and here’s to many years of happiness as husband and wife.

PEOPLE.COM: Mandy Moore and Wilmer Valderrama may have dated over 16 years ago, but they are thick as thieves.

The friendly exes were together to continue their annual get-together at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights in Los Angeles on Friday evening as the This Is Us actress, 34, shared videos of their frightening night out.

“This is a tradition right?” Moore said in a video that showed the NCIS actor.

“It’s a yearly tradition that Mandy and I take the horror of Halloween Horror Nights,” Valderrama, 38, said before Moore told him: “I’m scared.”

Friday’s outing marked the second one this month for the pair, who reunited at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Oct. 6. During the event, Moore shared a photo of the That ’70s Show alum planting a kiss on her cheek as she grinned at the camera.

Moore, who dated Valderrama from 2000 to 2002, told Howard Stern in June that she met Valderrama at a photo shoot for a teen magazine when she was 15 and that she had “never French-kissed a boy.”

“He was like my first, real, true boyfriend,” she recalled.

Moore also characterized her current friendship with Valderrama as positive. “We’re not that close, but we’re friendly,” she explained. “He’s a good guy, he really is.”

Both Moore and Valderrama have long since moved on from their young romance: Moore got engaged to Taylor Goldsmith in 2017, while Valderrama has been supportive of ex-girlfriend Demi Lovato after her July overdose. He has flown to visit Lovato on the East Coast several times, TMZ reported in September.

Though Moore is friendly with ex Valderrama, she may not be on positive terms with another ex.

Her ex-husband Ryan Adams recently went on a rambling Twitter spree where he claimed he couldn’t even remember marrying Moore. Adams posted his series of Twitter messages, that have since been deleted, after Moore opened up about her divorce in the November issue ofGlamour, commenting that she “didn’t choose the right person.”

A source recently told PEOPLE that Adams’ previous behavior made his marriage to Moore “impossible.”

“Ryan could be terrible to Mandy when they were married,” the source said of the former couple, who tied the knot in 2009, before announcing their separation six years later. “She tried so hard to be a good wife and good friend, but he made it impossible.”

The source added, “Everything happened the way it was supposed to and she is truly happy now. Taylor is the perfect fit for her and she doesn’t even dwell on her past with Ryan. She’s happily moved on.”

VARIETY.COM: Lionsgate has set a Veterans Day weekend release date of Nov. 8, 2019, for Roland Emmerich’s World War II action movie Midway, opening on the same date as the 25th James Bond film.

The slot is also already occupied by Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog in addition to MGM’s Bond movie. MGM is expected to vacate the date since the project currently doesn’t have a director following Danny Boyle’s recent departure.

Patrick Wilson, Woody Harrelson, Luke Evans, and Mandy Moore are starring in “Midway.” Wilson will play Edwin Layton, the rear admiral in the U.S. Navy who was part of the intelligence team that correctly pinpointed the location of the Imperial Japanese Navy’s attacking fleet near Midway Atoll in 1942. The damage to the Japanese fleet was so extensive that it never recovered and military historians regard the battle as a turning point in the war.

Harrelson is portraying Admiral Chester Nimitz, the commander of the Pacific Fleet during the war. Evans will play Lieutenant Commander Wade McClusky, who led a crucial aerial attack that caused the sinking of two of Japan’s fleet carriers in the battle. Dennis Quaid, Nick Jonas, Luke Kleintank, Keean Johnson, Etsushi Toyokawa, Tadanobu Asano, and Jun Kunimura round out the cast.

Emmerich is directing from Wes Tooke’s script. He’s producing the pic with longtime partner Harald Kloser. Starlight Entertainment Group and its partners are financing the film. Lionsgate is on board to distribute domestically, while Bona Film Group will distribute the movie in China.

Principal photography started Wednesday in Hawaii. Emmerich, Eckhart, and other members of the cast and crew celebrated Tuesday night with the financers of the film — Starlight Culture Entertainment, Emei Film Group, and Xiao Chong Shan International Culture Media — at a ceremonial camera unveiling at Turtle Bay Resort, in Kahuku, Hawaii. The news about the “Midway” dating was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.

PARADE.COM: It can be a bit difficult to tell that Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, who play a husband and wife on TV’s This Is Us, aren’t actually married in real life—or that all the actors in television’s most emotionally affecting intergenerational family aren’t actually a real family at all.

“We all love each other,” says Moore, 34. “We truly feel like a family.”

Moore and Ventimiglia play Rebecca and Jack Pearson on the Golden Globe–nominated hit NBC drama, which tells the touching, often wrenching story of the close-knit Pearson clan in heart-rending flashbacks as well as in the present day.

“In a given day, Mandy and I have been in scenes from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s,” Ventimiglia says. “It’s fun to jump back in time. The ’80s are a happier time in the marriage and the kids are younger, while the ’90s are stressful because of what Jack and Rebecca are going through. It’s fun. It’s different from playing current-day scenes. There’s a bit of magic to it.”

PEOPLE.COM: Mandy Moore is remembering her late ex-boyfriend Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein nine years after his shocking death.

Moore, 34, posted a picture of Goldstein posing in a t-shirt on Instagram, Monday, and captioned the intimate image, “9 years. I miss you every day, Adam. #djam.”

Goldstein was found dead at age 36 in his New York City apartment on Aug. 28, 2009. He died of a drug overdose, according to CNN.

Moore and Goldstein, who had known each other for years, started dating in early 2007 after reconnecting at a New Year’s Eve party in Miami.

“It’s really new. They’re in the beginning stages of getting to know each other,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. “They’re very into each other. It’s very sweet.”

Their breakup — two months later in March 2007 — “was mutual,” an insider told PEOPLE.

Moore and Goldstein remained friends despite the split though. In fact, in 2008, Moore flew to the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia, to see Goldstein after he survived a deadly plane crash with Travis Barker.

Following Goldstein’s 2009 death, his former fiancée Nicole Richie, and his friends Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson, Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart all attended his memorial at the Hollywood Palladium.

Moore has posted about Goldstein — who worked as a deejay — in the past. In 2015, she wrote, “This guy. One of a kind. Been on my mind a lot lately….I can still hear your laugh and oh man, I miss your hugs more than anything. Nearly 6 years and I’m still at a loss…”

At the time of Goldstein’s death, Moore told TMZ in a statement that she was “absolutely heartbroken.”

“For those of us lucky enough to have known him, Adam radiated a contagious exuberance for life and also personified the very definition of a true friend. To say that he will be missed beyond words is an understatement. My heart goes out to his loved ones.”
